![]() I love combat in games and I think it's a lot of fun and definitely an upgrade from the first one, although everything moves wayyyyy fast. Then, I set my E-key to psi-blast and my right click to telekinesis (with the chucking patch) while also having the patches for maximum chain attacks and I could spam E and Right-click over and over and basically use it like a semi-auto. ![]() I just used the mental connection in the brain tumbler & the patch that gives you psitanium for mental connecting for like 10 minutes which was enough to buy up everything in the shop. I wouldn't even say you need to reach 102. they could of gotten more insane with ford's mind tho, that dudes mind was SHATTERED but oh well. it could be explained away that the minds we go into are a lot more."grounded" and not straight up insane. the tankier enemies are supposed to be tankier, but even they ko'd with the right upgrades and combos.Īs far as switching up gameplay and level themes, yeaaaaah. (still not my least favorite level, the library was way.way worse.227 figments HAH SURE OK WHATEVER YOU SAY MAN)Įnemies being health sponges.eh you gotta use the right power for certain enemies and they drop. You'd think that part of his brain would be FILLED with nightmares, but nah, nightmare isnt even in the game, instead we get the "bad mood" enemies. I just wish we got more into that trauma then JUST a recap of their relationship. I personally love the game and my one gripe with bob's brain is how much time is spent on his relationship with helmit rather than the trauma of helmit's death (besides the bit RIGHT at the end) Does it still fit? yes, the relationship is VERY important to bob, losing his husband is what sent him into his depression. I'm interested to hear all of your opinions on that as well. ![]() I'm still mostly enjoying Psychonauts 2 and I really hope it makes up for some of the mediocre levels during the last few stages but so far I'm a little bit disappointed, tbh. Shop upgrades also feel somewhat mediocre at times - spend money in the shop to be able to grind more money in the open world - just a needless waste of time. The only level which did that so far in P2 was the cooking show and the first one which I did enjoy but most others consisted of just plain old platforming through different looking areas in which the gameplay didn't support the narrative as well as many levels in P1 and some ended up just being mediocre and/or frustrating to play. All of these didn't just introduce more platforming but mixed up the gameplay quite considerably. What I'm really missing are standouts like the Milkman Conspiracy, the Napoleonic level, the theatre stage or even the level where you run around as a giant. What I do like a lot more, though, is the hub area - I find the places to explore in P2 to be quite a bit more interesting and varied than the camp grounds in Psychonauts 1. I'm actually afraid, that you only unlock this ability after finishing the storyline which makes it rather pointless imo. Maybe that changes with level 102 when you can get rid of cooldown timers for your abilities but right now combat is just a bit of a drag and level 102 is still quite a way off. All the other ones I can barely remember up to this point although I played them just yesterday.Ĭombat I find to be less fun than in Psychonauts 1 - enemies are much more bullet spongy and you never feel particularly powerful even with a lot of the upgrades. ![]() The other one I can remember was the mail level but only due of its frustrating platforming. The plant level was just plain boring with a very mediocre gameplay loop which felt repetitive rather quickly. The first level (the Casino I mean) started off with a bang and I thought it would only get better however the only other levels which I ended up really enjoying was the hippie area with Psi King and the cooking show to a degree. So, I just finished the level of the plant guy (Bob) which is rather close to the end I believe and I'm growing more and more disappointed.
